Do you allow your tenants to have pets?

Only 2 percent of rental properties allow pets – meaning that an overwhelming number of tenants have little choice on where to live.

Disbarring tenants from having pets results in cutting you off from a large portion of prospective tenants that are looking for pet friendly homes.

Our property education partner and Chairman of the Property Investment Professionals of Australia (PIPA), Peter the Property Professor Koulizos, argues that it makes good business sense to let your tenants have their furry friends. We agree!

As a side note, the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation has conducted studies which show that pets do less damage to properties than children. Isn’t that interesting – but hardly surprising!
