With property prices softening for the first time in years in many areas around Australia and the likelihood of interest rate falls over coming months, organisers of the largest property education event in Australia are expecting a record turnout to their event at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre this week.

The Melbourne Home Buyer & Property Investor Show will be held from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th October and its primary objective is to educate home buyers and property investors of all levels.

With so many different messages conveyed throughout the media regarding the property sector, many buyers often experience information overload and don’t know where to start.

The event aims to cut-through all the chatter by providing a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with many of the most successful and trusted property experts in the country.

Over 10,000 home buyers and property investors are expected again to this once a year event and they will all be seeking out independent advice from reliable experts, including Effie Zahos, Chris Gray, Margaret Lomas, Bryce Holdaway, Enzo Raimondo, Frank Valentic, Andrew Morello, Peter Koulizos and many more.

With over 30 free daily seminars, presenters will be advising visitors on how to make sense of all the new data and statistics being released almost every week and which information they can rely on to make informed decisions on their next property purchase.

Australian’s have long loved to talk about property and everyone has an opinion at weekend barbecues on where and what to buy. But with the markets changing, people can make fundamental mistakes when buying property and the most successful experts caution people on taking advice from friends and family.

Leading property commentator, Chris Gray agrees with this sentiment and will be presenting a free seminar each day on how to build and renovate a highly profitable investment portfolio.

Chris said “At the moment, the market volatility is providing some great opportunities to pick up a bargain and there has never been a better time to buy. Professional investors are always contrarian and buy when everyone else is sitting on the fence – less people at auction means you pay a lower price.

Buyers can get emotionally involved when buying property, so to ensure they make the right choice for a smart investment, I always recommend getting professional advice – and the Home Buyer & Property Investor Show is the best resource all year for that.”

For many people, owning their own home can seem like a distant dream, particularly if they are caught in the rental trap and finding it tough to save for a deposit. Money Magazine Editor, Effie Zahos will present four different ways to buy a home with little or no deposit, provide expert advice on how to pay off your mortgage in record time, the features of a home loan that save you money and whether or not you should lock in your interest rate now.

Enzo Raimondo, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria, will provide home buyers with a comprehensive and accurate overview of the local property market, highlighting the suburbs providing good capital growth now and over the next few years along with an explanation of the key economic indicators that are most likely to have an impact on the market. Enzo will also discuss the key issues facing home buyers and sellers, including how housing can be made more affordable.

Bryce Holdaway who is the co-host of Relocation Relocation Australia on Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel will share a powerful 8-step investment process that he has successfully used with hundreds of clients to create millions while carefully managing risk. His seminar will provide new and seasoned investors with the tools to consistently outperform the residential property market.

Expert analyst and commentator on the residential property market, Anthony Ishac from Australian Property Monitors, will answer the hottest question in property right now with regards to what to buy – an apartment or house? As Melbourne’s urban regeneration gathers pace and buyers increasingly embrace the downtown lifestyle typical of numerous European and US metropolises, this promises to be a very popular session.

The event also presents a major exhibition with over 100 exhibitors and visitors will be able to see, compare and buy all the latest homes, apartments, house & land packages, home loans, tax and insurance agents with representatives on hand from government and independent association groups such as the Real Estate Institute of Victoria, Property Investment Professionals of Australia, Consumer Affairs and the Financial Ombudsman’s office.
