Auction results – 12 April 2021

Here are the highlights from last weekend’s auctions:

  1. The national auction clearance rate was 79.9%, holding steady from last week’s 79.4%.
  2. Auction volumes increase, as expected, with a total of 2,170 auctions held, compared with 845 over the Easter weekend.
  3. Canberra clocks in yet another stellar result, with a preliminary clearance of 90.1%. For the ninth week in a row, Canberra and Sydney return clearances above 80%.
  4. The low auction volumes and clearance rates recorded for this time last year are due to it being the Easter weekend in 2020 and also the imposition of social distancing measures, including a ban of on-site auctions. Over this week 30.6% of auctions were cleared with 56% withdrawn.
